Hi, I'm Jaclyn Peresetsky. And today, we're going to discuss how to have contrasting hair color. Contrasting hair color can be somewhat scary because many of us don't even know how to make it look its best. But we know we want something different with our hair color. Well, let me tell you, the key is choosing the same color family when choosing contrasting hair color. Our model, Ashley actually has contrasting hair color and it looks amazing because it's in the gold family. If you notice, she has lighter colors of gold and darker colors of gold weaved throughout her hair. So, contrasting hair color is lighter color against a darker color in order to have a pop in your hair. You want to make sure though whenever getting those colors weaved through your hair, that it doesn't look too stripey. Because stripey hair can sometimes can away from the beauty of your natural skin tone. And also all the beautiful characteristics that you have in general. So, color families are the key. So if you look at any of the hair books, they all have color families. So, the easiest way to think about it is you can choose a lighter shade and a darker shade as long as it's in the same row or the same color family. When seeing your hairstylist, have them pull your hair book. So that they can show you what is the lightest color they can choose and what is the darkest color they can choose. And make sure when they're putting it throughout your hair, that you're putting it where it's not so rhythmic, it's not every single every other one. So it doesn't look stripey. The key is to make it look natural but also give you the pop that you desire. I hope this information helps and that you're able to have the contrasting hair color that you want.
