Hi, I'm Alice von Simson, licensed cosmetologist, and owner of Secret Salon in Carlsbad, California. In this video, I'm gonna be showing all you surf babes how to heal salt burned lips. Now, prevention, in this case, is better than a cure. So, our main focus is going to be on treatments that are going to protect your lips from the sun and surf. What you're gonna do first is you're gonna apply a good ChapStick, Blistex or Carmex are really good, and just let that sit a little while. Now, this is assuming, of course, that the burns aren't bad. If there's any sort of blistering or it's looking yellow, then you're gonna want to go and see a doctor. After that's sat for a little while, just take a dry towel or wash cloth and just gently buff the dead skin off the lips. Next time you go out in the sun or the ocean, you're gonna put a protective lip treatment. If you're gonna be out for a long time, I'd actually suggest using something like zinc that's really going to protect you from the sun, 'cause prevention is always better than cure.
