Hi. My name is Ryan Wagner, and I'm going to show you how to make a perfect soft boiled egg on an electric stove. Now, the secret is, it works exactly the same on an electric stove as it does on a gas stove. So, the point is just to bring the water to a boil. Next, we use room temperature eggs and, this is important because if they're not room temperature they're starting from cold and they'll take longer to cook. We're also using large eggs and that's important, jumbo eggs, small eggs, will take a different amount of time to cook. So, the egg goes into the boiling water, set a timer for five and a half minutes exactly, and wait. After five and a half minutes, egg comes out of the water. I drop it into ice water for just a moment so it's not so hot, it's easier to handle, maybe about ten seconds. And, once it's cooled down a bit, I take it out, crack the shell off of it and I cut it open. And, voila, you have a perfect soft boiled egg that is ready to eat.
