Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement, and this is how to install butterfly bolts for your drywall. Butterfly bolts are nice because you can put them basically anywhere that you have drywall and they aren't designed to hold a lot of weight so you want to keep it relatively low like your pictures or mirrors. That way you don't have the risk of pulling that drywall out. For this job I'm going to be using a hammer and a battery-powered drill with a Phillips bit. The first step is to grab your butterfly bolt and fold the edges in by pressing in on the center. You're going to hold it like that and nail it into your wall. After that's done, we're going to grab our battery-powered drill with our Phillips bit and the screw and just put it right to the center of your butterfly bolt and screw it in. What's happened is after our anchor is in the wall, the screw as it passes through that hole will open up the opposite side that's inside your wall and compress it against that drywall, that allows you to hang stuff on that screw without falling out. You want to make sure that you don't install a butterfly bolt where there's a stud. What's going to happen is it's going to hit that stud and not allow it to secure tightly against your drywall. The best thing to do is go ahead and pull that anchor out and put in a regular screw to hold your stuff on the wall. Thank you all for watching and good luck with this project.
