I'm Xtah, and this is how to thin a thick wig. Well, what you want to do is make sure you put your wig onto a head form and you could use some pins to hold it down if you want to, you don't have to. Get your wig onto the form and then starting at the top you'll want to take a thinning shear. A thinning shear looks like a pair of scissors but it's notched so it's going to take out some hairs. You don't want to go straight into the hair. You want to kind of do an angle. You don't want to get too close to the scalp area, just like in a regular haircut, if you get too close, it's going to stick up and it's not going to be good. So you just want to do like one to two notches on each of your little sub sections around the top or around the sides and just comb it out, get that extra hair out and voila, you have thinned out your wig.
