Hi. My name is Brian and these are keyboard shortcuts for Pi and Delta. Now let's say you want to type the math symbols Pi and Delta. Now they're not readily available on your keyboard. They're not even visible on like a sub key if you hold down shift on your keyboard. In order to type special symbols like this you have to use what is known as accent codes. An accent code on a PC is when you hold down alt and type numbers on the number pad. And on a Mac it's when you hold down option and type in a letter or a number. So in order to type Pi on a Mac you have to hold down option and then P and then I get the Pi symbol. On a PC it's alt. 227. So hit alt and hold it and type 227. For Delta you have to hit option J on a Mac. On a PC you hold down alt and type 30. Now all the different accent codes for all the different symbols are located on the Internet. A great site to look these up are symbolcodes.tlt.psu.edu. They have everything from math symbols to foreign language symbols and you can look them up there whenever you want to find a symbol that's not on the keyboard already.
