Hi, my name is Brian and this is how to downsize an image size. Now, sometimes you'll download a picture off the Internet or you'll take a picture on your camera and especially if you take a picture on a high quality camera, the image size might be very large and it might be too large for you to upload to a website like Facebook or Tumblr or something like that. So, I'm going to show you how to use Photoshop to downsize that photograph. So, I have this photo here that I got off Wikipedia, off the Wikipedia comments page and it's opened up in Photoshop. In order to make this smaller, I'm going to go into image and then image size. Now, under image size I have the width and height in pixels which I can change. I can also change this to percent or I can go down here and change it to points or centimeters or millimeters, whatever I want to do in order to better change the size. But also, there's this option resolution which right now is set to 300, which is pretty high in that standard for printing up posters and things like that. For the Internet, you want to change your resolution to 72, that's standard for webpages. And if I hit okay, after changing the resolution to 72, it will shrink my image and then I can save it at this size.
