Hi, my name is Eylene Pirez, and I'm an astrophysicist and this is does hydrogen leak into outer space from Earth. So there are many ways that Earth can gather gases. It can hold them with gravity from the beginning of, from the formation of the planet, we can acquire them from comets and asteroids during impact. So there are many ways to supply gases to the atmosphere but what has been discovered recently is that we are actually leaking a lot of our light gases into outer space. Now, this generally effects hydrogen and it also effects helium. Now let's think about what's the rate of actual leakage. So hydrogen is leaking at 3 kilograms per second which is fairly fast and helium is about 50 grams per second. So hydrogen is leaking a lot faster than helium. My name is Eylene Pirez, and I'm an astrophysicist and this is does hydrogen leak into outer space from Earth.
