It has a period around the Sun of a hundred and thirty three years, which classifies it as a Haley type comet. Haley type comets are between twenty and two hundred years. Now the nucleus size of the Swift-Tuttle is about 25 kilometers. And the only reason that we call it the Perseid shower is because it looks like it's coming from the constellation of Persius. My name is Eylene Pirez, and I'm an astrophysicist and this is what comet does the Persied shower come from.
