Hi. My name is Luke and this is how to pause a Google desktop search. Google desktop is a program released by Google that allows indexing the files, folders and data on your computer for fast and easy searching. However, due to a number of various reasons Google has discontinued support for this program and I no longer recommend using it. What you can do in Windows 7 is use the pre-built-in search feature that works in a similar manner. What you can do is go to the start button. At the bottom here where it says search programs and files, this is an area where you can type in anything that you want to search on your computer and it will give you the results based on the name. Another option is in any window you have open in the top right corner there's a search feature. This search feature will search the local area that you're in. The search bar at the bottom here will search your entire hard drive. And that's it.
