Hi, I'm Indrani Phillips with STYLE-bites. And today, I'm going to show you how to decorate with mismatched furniture. The days of buying complete furniture sets are gone my friends. It's all about creating more of a unique look and personalizing your space by buying mismatched furniture. Here are three tips to do it the right way and in style. Number one, shopper home and re-create pieces. We have a coffee table here that was a coffee table in our old place, but when we moved, we decided to re-use it as a media center. And so now, it holds the TV and it works with the space. For the accent chair, it's actually a chair from our dining room set. I've got eight of them and I don't use them on a regular basic, so I pulled it from that set to be able to have extra sitting in our living room space. Two, have a common denominator. So, when you're, when you're buying a sectional, we have this one custom designed. The tufting details in this sectional is tied to the white leather that has the tufting. In the white leather chair, we've got grommet details that place very well with the dining room chair. So, they all kind of go together; so, if you find the common denominator with things, it makes the space very cohesive and flows really well. I throw in an odd ball with the rust color chair and that fits in the style of the room. It's very curvy in the details and it has a vintage sort of feel, so it works really well with the space. Number three, the tables. Now, if you see all the different tables in the space between the media center and the coffee table and the console table, they're all different styles. But, they work together nicely because they're, they're the same finish. So, again, make sure that you have a common denominator with the mismatched furniture and it stays within your style, you'll be able to decorate with mismatched furniture in style.
