Hi. I'm Matt Pizzi, and today we're going to talk about how you can install a plugin for After Effects. Plugins give you the ability to extend After Effects capabilities. In this example we're going to take a look at how we can get more effects inside of the program. I'm on Adobe's website and you'll notice here they list all the different manufacturers for different plugins for After Effects. I'm going to go ahead and expand this one which is Boris FX. They create several different plugin packages. In this case they have a free trial as their plugin is around a thousand dollars. So I'm going to download the trial by clicking this button. And this will download the installer to your computer. Now before you run the installer you should probably quit After Effects if you have it running. To run the installer simply double click it. When you double click the installer you'll have to walk through the installer step by step filling out certain parameters. In this case I have to fill out my registration information. So I have to provide my name, my email address and my serial number. Once I'm done to filling all the requirements of the installer the installation will take place. Once the installation is complete you can open up After Effects to see if your plugin successfully installed. In this case I can see all the final effects complete plugins that were installed from Boris FX. Installing plugins is simple and it adds a lot of functionality to After Effects.
