Hi, I'm Dr. Robert Pomahac, and today's question is ankle exercises for running. Proprioception, a key thing that we will be focusing on today using a Bosu ball. The reason and the benefits are prevention of injuries, strengthen those intrinsic muscles of the feet and the bones and also making sure that you prevent injuries in the future. What most people don't realize is that you have four layers of muscles in your feet and 25% of all your bone structure is located in your hands and your feet. Your muscles, they get sore and they get tired because of excessive using than with running so I like to use a Bosu ball for proprioception. Standing on your toes, balance, standing on your heels, standing on one foot and then doing a squat. The culmination of different types of procedures involves all layers of the muscles in the feet, the front of the foot and the back of the foot and also uses balance.
