Hi, my name is Rebecca Luke, stylist and costume designer and founder of Rebecca Luke Style. I'm here at the fabulous Baby and Company here on First Avenue, in Seattle, Washington to give you an overview of the flannel shirt trend. The flannel shirt can be traced all the way back to 17th Century Whales where workers in the fields will use the fabric in the shirts to protect themselves from the elements. Here in the United States, Hamilton Carhartt made the flannel shirts popular for workers as a blue collar working standard. Most recently grunge and hipster cultures have taken over the flannel shirt and made it their own. The thing about that trend is that flannel shirts make it seem like you don't care but if you are wearing a flannel shirt, it's true you do care about comfort and looking great. That's a bit of an overview of the flannel shirt trend.
