Hi, my name is Dr. Steven Roth from SmilesNY in New York City and today we are going to discuss whitening teeth in children. The minimum age for whitening teeth is 13 years so under 13 years old, you should not be whitening childrens' teeth. Over 13 years we find that the best way to do it is with whitening strips. It could be the Crest whitening strips, it could be the store bought whitening strips bu tin many children, yellow teeth are caused by plaque and stain so have them see the dentist and get their teeth professionally cleaned first. Once they are polished, then the color can be assessed and if whitening is still necessary for either genetic reasons or if they were taking antibiotics that stained their teeth, try the whitening strips first and then see if that works and most people find that they are going to get a great result from that. I'm Dr. Steven Roth from New York City, SmilesNY and today we discussed whitening teeth in children.
