Hi, I'm Rachel, and today we're going to be going over how to compare the metric system and the US customary system for middle school students. I like to give them a bunch of small objects you know, it can be a ball, you know, all sorts of different little objects and give them a ruler and have them convert you know, on the ruler there's both sides they have inches and feet and they also have you know, centimeters and meters so this will you know, be a great fun way, an interactive way they can be measuring the different things with the rulers, converting from inches to feet, centimeters and meters, yards to meters. They can also measure the objects and you can look at you know, pounds and ounces, the US system and you can also look at you know, grams, milligrams and kilograms, I mean depending on you know, what you are converting, but that's a really fun way to have them, you know, interact with these objects. You can also have them do liquids like they can have a gallon of milk and have to convert the gallons to liters. You can also use quarts, pints, cups, all the different systems and they can you know, figure out the conversions in an interactive way. I'm Rachel and thanks for learning with us today.
