Hi, I'm Rachel, and today we're going to be going over teaching probability at a basic education level. It's very important that they realize what probability is. Probability is the likelihood that something will happen. It doesn't necessarily mean that it will happen, it's just the likelihood, the probability. A great example of that we use when we're doing basic problems is dice. Dice, there are six possibilities, right. So you can say what's the probability that you will roll a two. Well that's one option out of six, right. So that's one over six. You can also say what's the probability that you will roll an even number. Well that's two, four, and six. Right. That's three over six which then have to reduce to one half. Another great example we use is cards. A deck of playing cards. This is out of 52 right. 52 cards in a deck and there might be something like what's the probability that you will pull out a four? Right. Any four. Well there's four fours in the deck. You could also say what's the probability that you will pull out the four of clubs, right. That's only one out of 52 and this is great. They can practice reducing fractions and all of that. I'm Rachel and thanks for learning with us today.
