Hi, this is Chef Maria from Cork and Platter, and today I'm going to show you how to preserve your yams. The best way to preserve yams is to freeze them. The first thing you have to do is wash them really well, give them a scrub and then prick them with a fork. We're going to wrap them with foil individually and then you are going to put them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then we're going to turn the oven down to 350 and cook it for an additional 20 minutes. Once they are done, pull them out of the oven and let them cool completely, put them in a freezer bag and freeze them and they last for about one year.
