Hi, I'm Alicia Richmond, and today I'm going to show you how to keep your expensive jeans looking new by learning how to colorfast. What colorfasting is is you take your dark greens denim, you turn it inside out. Then, you fill up your washing machine with cold water; the coldest that your setting will go. Then, you're going to take just a cup of distilled white vinegar, pour it into the water, no detergent because the first washing of the jean is when it releases the most dye. So, you want to make sure that that vinegar is colorfasting the dye into the denim. By turning it inside out, you're going to save the face of the denim, so that it doesn't get all worn looking, plus when you take it out of the washing machine after it's finished, hang it to dry, stretch out the leg and you're good to go.
