Hey there. Vaughn Bullard here again. Ever wonder how you can change your WordPress header into a cool collage of photos but was unsure on how to do that? Well I'm going to show you how to create a custom WordPress header using Picassa Photo. First thing we're going to go do is to go to the WordPress administration pages. This is done by typing in the URL of your blog followed by forward slash wp dash admin. You'll be prompted by your administrator user name and password. Type that in and press the log in button. We're going to go to the appearance menu then we're going to select header. Now here's where you can upload a new header for your WordPress site. One thing to take note of here are the image dimensions. On this site it is 1600 pixels wide by 230 pixels high. With that noted we're going to download fricatta if you haven't done so already from http://picassa.google.com. Once you've gone through the Picassa install and you've had a chance to index all your images on your computer you will be able to select a handful of image files and select the create menu and then select picture collage. Here you'll be prompted a series of selected images that you can crop, rotate and arrange your images on the collage. The next thing we'll do is select page format. Then choose custom aspect ratios. We will then give it the dimensions of 1600 by 230 and give it a name. In this case we'll call it WordPress header format and then click OK. So we're all set on how we want it to look and we're going to click the button called collage. We'll save the file to desktop as wp header 1, we'll switch on back over here to our WordPress custom headings settings page and we're going to choose the file and select the image called wp header 1 and then click upload. And once that is finished we're going to click save changes. And now with that done we're going to go to our main page here and there you go, a brand new custom header. And that's how easy it is to do folks. That was how to create a WordPress header with a Picassa photo editor.
