This is Mindy McIntosh-Shetter, and I'm going to show you how to plant a lasagna garden. But before we get to that step, I'm gonna show you very quickly how to create a lasagna garden. It begins by laying a layer of cardboard down, topping that cardboard with at least 6 inches of a good quality soil, and or compost, and then placing straw on top of that layer of soil. Once you have that constructed, when you are ready to plant, you're going to either dig into the straw until you get into that soil layer, or move the straw out of the way, dig your hole as usual, plant as usual, and then you're gonna cover back up with that layer of straw. Once you have got that completed, you will need to thoroughly water in.
