Hi, my name is Marija, and today I'm going to show you how to convert cubed feet into gallons. The conversion that you need to know for this is that one foot cubed is approximately equivalent to 7.5 gallons and we're talking about gallons of liquid here. So you can use this ratio to convert any number of cubed feet now into gallons. So if I write down that 1 cubed foot is equivalent to 7.5 gallons, now I can set up the rest of a proportion to find out however many cubed feet are in a number of gallons. So let's say I have 3 cubed feet, I'm going to line them up with my cubed feet here in the numerator and I'm trying to find out how many gallons. So I'm going to go ahead and write X and when I cross multiply to solve my proportion, I'm going to get X equals 3 times 7.5 so we're doing 7.5 times 3, 3 times 5 is 15, 7 times 3 is 21, add our 1 we get 22 and when you multiply decimals, just remember to bring back the one space which gives us approximately 22.5 US gallons of liquid in three cubed feet.
