Hello, everyone. I’m Joshua Clement, and today I’m going to talk to you about how to prepare concrete for tile. Now, it’s very important to remove all the dust from your concrete. That way, the grout and the mortar has something to stick to. For this job, you will need plenty of water, and clean rags. So, what you’re going to do is you’re going to completely saturate the concrete with water – that way, you can break loose any dirt that has worked its way into the grooves. After you’ve saturated the area, you want to let it sit there for just a little bit. That way, it can start to absorb the water and work loose all that dirt. After you’ve let it sit there, you’ll take a mop or your rags, go through, and clean the area. If you can’t get it as clean as you want it, you can always go to the store and buy a sealant and put over the top of your concrete to help seal the top of the concrete. That way, you can put your tile down. Now, you don’t want to use a dish detergent or a soap on the concrete, because it’ll leave it just a little bit slimy and leave a film on top. You want to make sure that you use only water. Thank you all for watching, and good luck with this project!
