Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement, and today I'm going to talk to you about problems with a plumbing drain clean out. A lot of times what happens is the drain clean outs are up in the ceiling going through the roof or out away from the house. Animals like to use these drain clean outs to make nests and stuff like that inside the pipes. A lot of times you'll get an opossum if your pipe is big enough or a raccoon that will wedge its way down in there and clog up the pipe. Other times you'll have birds that make their nests right inside of the pipe which will clog it up which will end up pushing that sewage smell right back into your house and may cause your toilets to gurgle really bad and your toilets not to flush very fast and allow your drain in your tub not to drain. One way to fix this is take a wire mesh and put it over top of your pipe which will keep the animals from getting down in through there and clogging it up. If there's already an animal down in there, you can take a simple snake and clean it out just like you would a normal drain pipe or clean out and snake it through there which will clean out any obstructions in the pipe. It's very important that you have no obstructions in your drain clean out because a lot of times your clean out also doubles as a ventilation which will back up your toilets and your sinks and allow a nasty smell in your house. Thank you all for watching and good luck with this project.
