Hi, I'm Drew Moyer, and this is how to convert degrees latitude into kilometers. Converting latitude into kilometers is much easier than longitude because throughout the globe, degrees latitude stay relatively constant. At the equator, one degree latitude is equal to about 110.567 kilometers. And at the poles, it's equal to about a 111.699 kilometers. So, to average this out so that I can use this formula anywhere, I will say that one degree latitude is equal to about 111 kilometers. Now, let's say I wanted to find the kilometer distance for four degrees of latitude. I would simply plug in the four times 111 equals my kilometers. And four times a 111 is 444. So, I know that four degrees latitude is equal to approximately 444 kilometers. I'm Drew Moyer, and this is how to convert latitude degrees to kilometers.
