Hi, I'm Kristie Prince Hale, and today we're going to talk about how to hang a peacoat. A peacoat is an essential for the winter time because it's a great well constructed jacket that's usually made out of wool. So it's nice and heavy. And it's going to keep us nice and warm during those cool months. But one thing that we are going to need today for our hanging purposes is a great well constructed hanger. Because the coats are so heavy you want a hanger that's not, you don't want a metal hanger that can bend and isn't going to be durable. So I like to use these wood hangers. You can purchase them from most retail outlets like Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Walmart, even IKEA. So they're great to have in your wardrobe closet but definitely an essential for your coat closet. So we are going to take our wooden hanger and our peacoat, and I'm going to simply be looking for the arm hole right here. And I'm going to take one side of our hanger and set it in there. And then I'm going to take the other arm and drape it right over the other side. I'm going to hang it right here so you can see what happens next. These coats have great buttons but when you put them inside the closet they tend to flap open like this. And so if you are taking things in and out of the closet it might get caught and it can kind of be a mess. So what I like to do is make sure we actually button a few of the buttons. And this way it will lay flatter in the closet so it's easier to take in and out. You can do two or three buttons, whichever you prefer. There you go. This way when you take it in and out of the closet it will come nicely. So that's how you would hang it if you're just using it throughout the season. If you're done for the season you want to make sure you get it professionally dry clean. And then you can use a great garment bag just like this. And you'll put the coat inside the garment bag. And you're ready until the next season. So there you have it. That's how to hang a peacoat. Thanks for joining me. I'm Kristie Prince Hale.
