Hi, my name is Jyl Craven. This is how to back comb correctly. When you are back combing the hair, it can be difficult where you wouldn't be able to hide it very well or you can break the hair so I'm going to show you the correct way to do a back combing on the hair to create more body. How I'd like to start is I'd like to use a little bit of a dry texturizing spray, that way it already creates some of the back combing by itself and you just spray it into the hair, a good amount never hurts. Then you're either going to take a comb or a back combing brush and you are going to take about an inch section in the hair, you're going to comb it up. You're going to stay by the base of the head and you're going to gently run the brush or the comb back down towards the scalp. And what that's going to do is create a really nice base of cushioning. You're going to continue doing that wherever you'd like the back combing and then when you get to where it's going to start showing, you're going to comb over the front just very surface and gently. That way you are not combing out the back combing that's at the scalp.
