Hi, I'm Dave Johnson, editor of eHow tech and now I've got a gadget that I think is fun and functional. If you work in an office there's a really good chance that you have a second monitor on your desk. Second monitors are great because they give you what I like to call extra screen estate. Double the amount of rooms, move the windows around and do two things at once, that sort of thing. So this is the AOC E1659FWU USB 3.0 monitor. What it actually does is here it comes in little carrying case, pull it out and it's a monitor. It's a fairly big monitor but it's super thin, it has a kick stand on the back, stand up on its own and the cool thing about this is it's designed so you plug in, here's the cable, one end goes in to the monitor, the other end goes in to your laptop or desktop PC and it automatically becomes a second monitor that you can extend your desktop or duplicate your desktop, whatever you like. The really cool part is it doesn't even require any power. There's no electrical plug back here, it gets all its power right from USB. Now only does it automatically work in landscape mode but if you flip it, it adjusts and works in portrait mode as well. You don't have to change any settings, it just works. Let me show you how this goes together. Let's pull out my laptop and set it up. So in this mode I can just take a folder and drag it from one monitor to the next. That works great. Also I can stand it up it automatically readjusts and what I love doing this portrait mode for is for instance I can take Microsoft Word, drag it here and it can run the full width of this window while I have something open in this other window instead. Now you can get this AOC monitor for about 130 dollars and at that price I consider this thing a steal.
