Hi, I'm Rachel, and today we're going to be going over how to state the number of complex roots. This usually applies to polynomials where we'll have you know x to the 6th + 3x + plus 4. All you have to do is find the variable with the highest exponent and that is what the degree of the polynomial is so this is a polynomial to the 6th degree cause 6 is the highest exponent and that means that there is 6 roots, there's 6 answers to this problem and that's all there is to it. It might not always be stated in this order right it might be x cubed + you know 3x to the 5th + 12 + x to the 10th right. They could throw in some other order but then you just have to put it in the regular order. You always want to write it in descending order with x to the 10th first then 6 to the 5th would be next and you can see that x to the 10th, 10 is the now the degree of the polynomial and the number of roots that we're going to have in the answer.
