Hi, I'm Bridgett Artise, and I'm owner, designer and author of Born Again Vintage. And today, we're at Born Again Vintage, "The Collective" in Montclair, New Jersey. And I'm going to show you how to make a DIY dress. First, you take two pieces, a top piece and a skirt. Both of them have to be knit and the skirt has to have an elastic waist. And you put the two pieces together. The top part, you cut exactly where your waist is. So, you have to determine where to cut on the top of the swearer or a shirt, or whatever you're going to use for the top piece. And once you do that, you put the two piece together and you hand sew across, or you could top stitch it across. But you have to make sure, you don't mess with the elastic. And once you do that, you have your own DIY dress.
