Hi, my name is Marija. And today, I'm going to show you how to remember the math symbols for inequalities. So, if you have a math sentence like ten and then, you're asked to fill in this, the inequality symbol and you have a five on the other side. You know that ten is greater than five but you're not sure how to show it. So, the best way that I've seen this taught for kids to remember is through Pac-Man. So, you remember that Pac-Man is always trying to eat the higher number, so that he can get more points. So, what we're going to do is, open Pa-Man's mouth towards the ten and draw him in. So, the kids can visually see that the Pac-Man is always trying to eat the bigger number. So, in this case he's trying to eat the ten. Alright, we'll do another example, if I have an eight on this side and eleven on this side. The Pac-Man will want to eat the eleven because he wants more points. So, we're going to open his mouth up towards the eleven. See, and once you get used to it, you don't have to draw the face anymore, we can just do the actual symbol. So, the mouth is opened up towards the eleven. That way, he can get more points. And then, once you've got the hang of the face, if I have seven and five. And if I have to fill in an inequality symbol. I know that the mouth is going to want to open up towards the seven. So at this point hopefully, I could just go ahead and open it like that without actually drawing the face.
