Hi, my name is Marija. And today, I'm going to show you how to find out what a letter represents on a number line. So, if you had a problem like, X equals two point five plus three. You're asked to first solve this equation and then, represent your answer on a number line. So, once we add these two numbers together, we're going to get X equals five point five. And then, you have to represent the letter X on the number line and decide where it would stand. So, we'll get to five, one, two, three, four, five. But now we know that our answer is just a little bit more than five. So, we also need to draw a six. And we should know that five point five actually lies right in the middle of five and six. So, I'm going to draw a dot right in the middle of five and six. And draw an X to show that the solution to this problem, two point five plus three, which is five point five, lies right here on the number line between the numbers five and six.
