Hi there. My name is Amy Newton and I'm going to talk about England's influences on American fashion. England has had a big influence on US fashion especially during the iconic 1960s with the introduction of The Beetles and Twiggy. There was an infectious culture that swept through the US during this time and Mod fashion inspired by Mary Quant from the UK. became an inspiration. This Fro-Nationale beseech skirt and beskin and blazer that Katerina is wearing both incorporate a modified west African print that actually resembles the Mod and Retro flair of England's 1960 styles creating a very interesting visual. There are several other iconic English brands that have impacted American fashion over the years, Boy George, Joan Collins and even Princess Diana have all been staples for US fashion iterations.
