Hello, my name is Amy Newton, and I’m going to talk about dressing for work in winter. Wintertime obviously calls for warm fabrics, but you want warm fabrics that still remain polished, smart, and sophisticated for the office. Wool ponte is a great blended wool that is a double-knit fabric, so it’s thick and is blended mostly with polyester, which means it has a slightly stiffer feel and clings nicely to the body. It was very big during the ‘60s and the ‘80s. It’s incredibly warm, super comfortable, which is important if you’re sitting at a desk all day or running around town to meetings. And, it can easily be dressed with a shirt or blazer. Combination fabrics will also set you apart from others in the office. Combining a wool ponte pant with a contrast texture, like the embroidered panels on these Fro-Nationale firm pants that Katerina is wearing, will provide you with that extra edge. Also, combining it with a chiffon shirt helps provide some cooling to the wool fabric.
