Hi. This is Michelle McLafferty and these are some gentle exercises for adults in the water. Water is an ideal place to exercise and tone the entire body with little to no strain on the joints. No matter what your age you can get a great workout in the shallow end or the deep end of the pool. So two basic exercises to do while exercising in the water are walking and jogging. Just walk normally, keep your shoulder blades down, stand up nice and tall and be aware of your posture the whole entire time. You can just walk nice and gently into the shallow end staying in about shoulder depth water so you'll have support and you will feel the water's resistance making it a little bit more challenging than walking on the land. If you have access to the deep end of the pool, you can use the noodle around the back of your waist in a c shape just to keep you afloat as you go toward the deep end of the water. You can continue a marching action or a jogging action as you go toward the deep end.
