Hey, everyone, Lake Fork Bass Guide, Stephen Fatherree, and in this short video I want to show you how to rig power bait for trout. Power bait is a great bait for trout especially in areas that have current breaks. I'm going to show you how to rig it on similar to in bass fishing what is a Carolina rig but you want to use ultra light tackle, four to six pound line and a half ounce sinker and a tiny hook. For my main line I like to use six pound test and for my liter line I like to use about twelve inches of four pound test. Use ultra light tackle, you're going to get more bites especially when you are fishing for trout. I've got a half ounce sinker, a swivel separating the main line and the liter and a tiny tiny size 10 salmon egg hook from Eagle Claw. You can use a treble hook as well but I like this salmon egg hook. Now how to rig it is very simple. I'm going to take one of my power baits here and very gently try not to squeeze this, crush this power bait too much, these things are really soft. You want to take this trout hook and just punch it through that power bait, make sure you get nice in the meaty part of that power bait and you can just leave the hook point exposed. So in this video we just learned how to rig power bait for trout.
