Hello, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors, and today I'm going to talk about how to protect your septic system and your plumbing lines. Now the biggest cause for septic problems is actually salt. Whether it be from water softener or somebody running a business dumping a lot of salt products down the drain. What this does is it starts to eat away at the concrete, causes it to become very brittle so the inside of the septic system deteriorates and starts clogging your lines and the whole system kind of collapses upon itself. So salt is one of the most harmful things for concrete because it starts to deteriorate. So you want to need as much salt out of your system as possible. You might want to run your water softener to an outside drain, something that won't be going in to your septic system. Another thing you want to make sure that doesn't enter your septic system is those personal care and hygiene products. Those things destroy septic systems. You also want to keep all heavy equipment away from you leech field. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors, thank you all for watching. Good luck with this project.
