Welcome to Dittrich Beauty Studio, where today we're going to talk a little bit about how to avoid or treat ingrown facial hair. I would like to speak to a few preventative measures, one being before you are shaving or if you are plucking, to not irritate but to remove dead skin cells before you do so. So use an invigorating cleanser, follow it with a toner. Again removing excess dirt, oil, skin cells, each part surrounding every hair, and then, when you get to shaving instead of immediately going against the grain, shave down with the hair first and again so that's still removing dead skin excess and a little bit of the hair and then go up against it. So that will give you a really smooth close shave. However, and always moisturize because it helps heal what you've just done, the irritation. Then if you do get an ingrown hair, make sure you want to probably apply a hot towel, maybe a little bit of Hydrocortisone which helps with irritation and swelling and use very very sanitized but pointed tweezers to gently pluck and if it doesn't want to come out immediately, put that hot compress back on there, a little bit more Hydrocortisone, really soften it up, the area around and then get in there and maybe you just want to ask your girlfriend, boyfriend or friend to help you if you can't seem to get the right angle on your ingrown hair. So prevent first but if it does happen, be gentle, warm compress, always exfoliate first, hydrate and hopefully it won't happen to you.
