Hello, my name is Michael Joseph Brown. Associate Dean of the college and professor of religion at Wabash College. And I'm here to answer the question: How can I have ideas for a ministry prayer shawl? Well, there are a number of different types of prayer shawls that are available. And what you would like to do most often is find a symbol or symbols that represent your faith that you would incorporate into the prayer shawl. For example if you were Jewish you might use a Star of David, if you're Christian you might use a cross. If you belong to a particular denomination like say you're a United Methodist, you might use the denominational symbol or the Church of Christ symbol. There are many different kinds of ways that you can put together a nice looking prayer shawl. So I would suggest that you look around your church and see what kind of symbols that are used and you can incorporate those into your prayer shawl. It should represent who you are and the faith that you belong to. So again, my name is Michael Joseph Brown, Associate Dean of the college and professor of religion at Wabash College answering the question: What kind of ideas do you have for a prayer shawl?
