Good day, everyone. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors, and today I'm going to talk to you about how to replace a pull chain for your ceiling fan. For this job you're going to need a pull chain replacement switch. You'll also need a pair of plie strippers, electrical tape and wire nuts. Now, for this particular light, it actually runs through the middle here and this holds your switch on. And right up here is where it's attached. First thing we do is snip our wires. We're going to try to leave as much wire in there as possible. We're going to unscrew the pull chain switch. Now, with your new switch, go ahead and run it into the light, screw it together. We'll go ahead and strip all our wires. Now, if you notice, both the wires coming out of the pull switch are black. So, you only want to hook one up to your light and the other goes to the power source coming in. So, then you put your wire nuts on and what I like to do is take the electrical tape since this is on a fan and go ahead an tape those together. That way, the vibration doesn't wiggle that wire nut off. Then, you'll take your white ones and hook those back together with your lead going out to your main power. And there you have it. That is how you can replace the pull switch for your ceiling fan light kit. I'm Joshua Clement with Lighty Contractors. Thanks for watching and good luck with this project.
