Hi, I'm Donna Emery from Glover Nursery in West Jordan, Utah. We are going to learn how to trim pansies. Pansies are a pretty low care plant, they don't require a lot of deadheading and a lot of fussing. But any plant looks better if it's kept groomed. To trim or cut back pansies, I look for the dying or spent flowers. This one has some dry back around the edge, so I'm just going to follow that stem all the way back to where it connects with a leaf and cut it at that point. I'm not just going to nip off the top, that would leave a stem that would never regrow. So, cut that stem off too. Flowers occasionally get broken, so I'll clean that up a little bit. If I see any damaged leaves like this one, this yellow one, I can just snip it off, or pull it off . Water and fertilize on a regular basis, and they'll keep blooming for months. I'm Donna Emery from Glover Nursery.
