Hi, my name is Maureen Murphy with Escada Hair & Beauty Spa in Norwood, Massachusetts. I'm here to show you today, how to finger wave long hair. Long hair is harder to finger wave because it's heavier, because it's long. Short hair is very easy to finger wave, because it stays where it's supposed to be. But because long hair is heavy, it tends to fall and you lose the wave. So, what's very important to start off, are you supplies, you need a good comb, you need some wave clips that you can buy at the beauty supply store, they're about three dollars. And you need a good gel or a mousse, and you want to make sure that the hair is nice and wet when you start. So, you wet the hair, you put in a gel or a mousse, and what you want to do is, you want to comb the hair in a forward direction, towards the face, almost like a C pattern. So, you comb the hair forward, you put your hair, your hand, finger on the first wave there. Now, you pull the hair down a little with the comb and you pull it in the opposite direction, towards the back of the head and push it up. Now, switch fingers and hold that wave with your fingers. Now, you want to take your wave clip and secure this wave, just like that. Now, the next one, you want to pull down and go in the opposite direction. Put your finger here, pull it forward, pull it down and push it up. Pinch the wave with your fingers and comb it down a little bit, and secure this with a wave clip. One more, you can pull it down, this one's going forward, so you want to hold it, pull it back, push it up, pinch it and pull it down. My beauty school instructor would be very proud of me right now, I hope you're watching, Mrs Big. Now, secure the wave and what you want to do with long hair, is you want to either leave this for several hours because it's wet. Or, you can be under a hood dryer and it'll dry in about 30 minutes. And once you have it all dry, you can undo the clips and you'll have a perfect wave pattern in the hair. So, again, my name is Maureen Murphy, I'm with Escada Hair & Beauty Spa in Norwood, Massachusetts. Come on down and see us.
