I'm Bruce Gemmell, co-founder of Art Science Complex, and this is origami variations and adaptations. For origami variations and adaptations I've chosen an example from my friend Arnold Tubis's book Unfolding Mathematics with Origami Boxes. Here's the book and here are a series of variations he's done in the traditional Japanese masu box. The traditional Japanese masu box is folded as so. We take the four corners, we fold them into the center. Then we fold the edge towards the center. As we go we wrap each corner over. I go clockwise because that's just what I do. You can go counter-clockwise if you'd want to. I don't see why. And what we have at the end is your traditional Japanese traditional masu box. From which there are, as you can see, an infinite amount of variations, which Arnold will go into detail about in his book. That was origami adaptations and variations.
