Hello, I'm celebrity chef Mariko, and today I'm going to show you how to make Gorgonzola-stuffed medjool dates. This is such a delicious appetizer recipe. The dates are really, really sweet and rich and the Gorgonzola has such a great tang that makes it such a perfect appetizer. So when you get your dates you're going to want to make sure to get a medjool date. They're a little bit larger and a lot juicier. Sometimes they come without pits but if you do get one with pits you'll just want to make a little slit in there and remove the pits yourself. Then you're going to want to get some of your favorite Gorgonzola cheese and just stuff it in there. I like getting the Gorgonzola that comes in a little brick so then it's easy to slice off a piece and stuff it in my dates. I absolutely love making this for an appetizer because the dates are really high in iron so they give you a little boost of energy so if you're a little sluggish before your meal it will help pick you up. And then the Gorgonzola just has a really really good flavor and ti complements the sweetness of the dates really well. So you could just serve them like this but I absolutely love putting them on these cute bamboo skewers. It just really, really helps the presentation if you're going to serve these for a party. OK now they're ready to go just like that. But if you're going to serve them on a plate you could really doctor it up by doing a little drizzle of honey.
