Hi, my name is Christina with DomesticFelicity.com. And today, we’re going to talk about relocating with a newborn. Moving with a newborn can be super-stressful. If you know that you’re moving before you have the baby, make sure that you get as much done as you can before the baby’s born. Enlist friends and family or a spouse to help you move large items and to lift boxes and get them organized and labeled. After you have the baby, don’t be afraid to ask people to come over and to help you fill boxes, label them. Or, a grandparent is a great person to hold the baby while you organize and get things ready for a move. Pace yourself – you’re still recovering from birth, and you have a new little person who’s very dependent on you for comfort, security, and love. List can be a great way to stay organized. You’ve just had a baby, so you have a lot to think about. So, maybe “Things to Buy” is one list. These lists are really great for when other people are helping you too, because you can just hand them the list that has specifics on it, and then they will know exactly what you need when they go to the store. They will also know what you need packed in a specific room that goes all in the same box if you have a number on a box, and then a number on your piece of paper with the items that are supposed to go in that box listed on your paper. To make moving with a newborn less stressful, you can do as much as you can before you have the baby, enlist the help of friends, and make lists. Another great idea is to make sure that you buy the big items – that you don’t necessarily need for a newborn – after you move. Those are just less things that you have to move.
