How to Get Insurance for a Water Park

My name is Susan Combs and I'm an insurance broker for Combs and Company. Today, we're going to talk about how to get insurance for a water park. So a water park when you think of going to a water park you think about having fun and you know going down the slides and doing the swimming and things like that but you don't typically think about all the insurance that has to be in place for a water park. So if you are an owner of a water park you always want to make sure that you are fully insured because as you can imagine, there are so many risk factors and it's a very high liability business. So the best thing to do is find a broker that specifically specializes in these high-risk situations so there's a lot of times that there's insurance workers out there that will specialize in you know, say extreme sports or extreme, you know locations, you know like skateboard parks and water parks and things like that, petting zoos that are actually going to be higher liability where the risk associated with injury are much higher than say just an office setting. So you want to find somebody that specializes in this because then they will have access to the carriers that are very comfortable wit this risk. You also typically want to have the broker come an do a walk around of your park so that they can take a look and really assess the risk properly and see if there's anything you know that might need to be changed to make it a safer place and also help with your insurance rates to go down. But the best thing is to find somebody that specializes in it because after they do the walk around then they'll present a package to different carriers and they will in essence sell your business to the carriers and you want to paint the best picture possible. So then you'll have the rates to come back and you'll be able to pick the rates and the best terms for the water park so that you are properly insured no matter what.
