My name is Susan Combs, and I'm an insurance broker for Combs and Company. Today, we're going to talk about facts of health insurance coverage. You know as you can imagine, this can be a very, very broad topic but to kind of simplify it, you know in looking at health insurance there's typically two types so there is in network only health insurance which means that you have to utilize the doctors that are in network for that carrier and then there is in and out of network coverage so meaning that you still have that in network component but then you also have an out of network component meaning that if you want to go to a doctor that doesn't take any insurance, you are still able to go and get some portion paid for. So you know there's a lot of quirky things I mean you have to look at, you know, some plans have copay, some plans have deductibles, some plans actually have a mixture of the both. The best thing to do if you are looking for specific facts on the health insurance plan that you have is to talk to your broker or give your carrier a call and have somebody walk you through step by step so you can really understand what your plan has.
