Hi, this is Nicholas Iarocci, The Home Source Guy, president and owner of Source Development, Inc., a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York and this is dishwasher installation errors. I'm going to discuss some installation errors that might be overlooked when you are installing your dishwasher. Let's start with a drain tube. Most drain tubes are single pieces. On some, they require an interlocking connection and a clamp so I want you to make sure that you follow the instructions that come with your dishwasher and if that's required assemble the dishwasher drain tube and connect it with a clamp. So one of the biggest errors that a homeowner might make is they don't give any thought to the dishwasher drain loop and basically what that is is the elevation of the drain tube up to the highest point in the base cabinet cavity and what that does is it forms a gap so that no back flow of liquids or gases flows back into the tube and into the dishwasher. So you want to make sure you install your dishwasher drain hose loop. Another possible error that can be made is that the dishwasher supply tube is attached to the cold water side of the plumbing. Now this is, our model has been set up with a separate valve for the dishwasher but it's very common that you would have a single valve with two outlet ports and it's usually on the hot water side, it should be on the hot water side and that supplies the dishwasher so make sure it's connected to the hot water side. Also make sure that you apply Teflon to all the fittings prior to installation. And this was dishwasher installation errors.
