Hi, I'm Mark Sodja. I'm a repair tech at ereplacementparts.com. In this video, I'm going to show you how to replace the line in a Black and Decker Grass Hog. We'll get started by first removing the cap on the trimmer head. It's held in place with a couple of tabs, you just press in. Now we'll remove the spool from the cap. And I'll remove whatever line is still left in the head. The Grass Hog uses two lines in the trimmer head. We'll use two separate strings as we wrap it. On the spool there's some holes that will hold the line as you initially start to wrap it. So I'll insert the line in those holes, and then begin to wrap the line. You'll notice on the spool that there's an arrow that determines the direction you wrap the line. In this case it's counterclockwise. As I wrap the line I want to keep it as consistent as I can. The more you wrap the line over itself the more likely it is to jam inside the spool. And you just continue to wrap until it's full. Once full, cut the line off. There's some little notches on the spool you can use to hold the line temporarily. Now we'll do the other side of the spool. And again I'll just continue to do this until the head is full and again I'll cut it off. Now the spool is ready to go back in to the cap. I'll set it in the cap, line up the lines with the eyelets, and thread the line into each eyelet. And now this assembly can go back onto the trimmer. We'll just line up the tabs with the upper part of the trimmer head and snap it into place. And that's all it takes to install line on a Black and Decker Grass Hog.
