Hi, my name is Emmanuel Osuyah, I am Principal of the Promise Insurance Group and I am a Certified Insurance Counselor. What is non-owners insurance? This is an insurance policy for someone who doesn't necessarily own a car but they have regular access to the car. State regulation may require you to buy a non-owners policy so that at least you have coverage for the state minimum limits. A non-owner policy is also a good idea to have, especially if you go rent a car, it's a great way to protect yourself while you drive that car. Keep in mind that a non-owner policy or coverage is only for liability purposes. It will not pay for property damage. So if you rent a car and you damage the car, the non-owner policy will not pay for the damage to the car. It only pays if you hit somebody else, it will pay the other persons car.
